Renée Roland, DDS, MS

Education

Dr. Renée Roland was born and raised in Elma, New York, a small rural town south of Buffalo. She graduated with her biology degree summa cum laude from Canisius College, and she was awarded early acceptance into the School of Dental Medicine at the University at Buffalo. During dental school, Dr. Renée excelled in both academic and clinical settings. She was the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships at UB and graduated as the valedictorian of her class. In order to further her knowledge and expertise in the dental/orthodontic field, after her residency she continued her education and specialized in orthodontics at the University of Rochester, earning a Master’s degree in Dental Science.

She is an ABO board certified orthodontistBoard certification is a voluntary achievement that not all orthodontists choose to pursue. In order to become board certified by the ABO, an individual orthodontist is thoroughly interviewed by a highly respected panel of examiners to demonstrate their orthodontic knowledge, clinical skills and judgment.

Dr. Renée is an associate professor at the University of Rochester’s Eastman Dental Center, where she teaches and supervises orthodontic residents.  She views herself as a lifetime student, always learning and only advocating technology that has been proven to be evidenced-based and heavily researched.  She has also been published research articles on projects she was involved in.

She is also the attending orthodontist for the Pediatric Cleft and Craniofacial Team at Golisano Children’s Hospital where she sub-specializes in treating children with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies.

Outside the Office

When she’s not practicing orthodontics, Dr. Renée cherishes spending time with her husband, Jim; their two sons, Carter and Davis; and the family’s dog, Nala. 

Dr. Renée LOVES photography! She also enjoys playing paddle tennis, golfing, skiing, watching her boys play sports, traveling and visiting new places. Being from Buffalo, Dr. Roland is a Bills fan for life.
